More bread

Hi to all/ Assalamu alaykum,

Yes here I am again with bread. I allready told you that I made a variation with cheese in it. And when I made it again I remembered to take some pictures so to show you. Although this time I made small round ones, sometimes I make them in a baguette shape.

These are of before the baking process.
And here the finished result. I managed to take a snap before this one was also finished.

Here is my latest trial and error. Bread with herb butter. You can see on the pictures how I put it together.

Just one advice: Make sure you close it properly otherwise al the butter will come out. I thought I had closed mine properly, but when it was finished I found out that it wasn't.

See here the result, should be more butter inside, but there was a pool of herb butter on the baking tray.

Insha'Allah next time it will come out better.

Allah hafiz, take care.

Bread sticks

Hi to all/ Assalamu alaykum,

Here I am again, with another kitchen-post. Sorry I can't help it, I was so excited that I wanted to share with all of you.

I got the pizza-dough recipe from The muslim wife's kitchen blog. And I noticed you could make more things with the dough. So I thought let's give it a try as well. I decided to make te breadsticks, nice and easy. Although they might not have the original bread stick look. Here the before photo:

From left to right: Garlic/butter, Italian herbs/butter, butter and garlic/paprika/butter.

Here they are finished and in the same order.
It took me a while to find out that my mobile phone makes better pictures without flash. So insha'Allah from now the pictures will look better.

But back to the sticks, Me and Little One liked the bread stick with the italian herbs the best.
I think the past week I've been making the dough 3 to 4 times. Making pizza's and breads. I like bread with cheese put inside very much. I also tried it with chocolate and pizza sauce, but honestly the cheesy one beats them all.

Insha'Allah I'm going to try making a bread with herb butter inside aswell, but for now I don't have the material to do that.

Insha'Allah I'll be writing to you again soon.

Allah hafiz, take care

If it ain't round...

Hi to all/ Assalamu alaykum,

Pizza. That is todays topic. Yesterday(19-05) I attempted to make my own pizza, with homemade dough and sauce. Alhamdulillah it turned out fine if you ask me. The only thing I was wondering about Why does pizza have to be round?
I took the (delicious btw) pizza out of the oven and the first comment was: It's not round. The only thing going through my mind was: It ain't pizza if it ain't round???? Anyways as you will see on the before going into the oven picture my pizza was not round. Usually if I make bread or pizza I just put the dough on the bakingtray and make it flat with my hands. Ending in the result of not really being round. But who cares, it's all about the taste right?

Anyhow, I made dough according to the Recipe, well without the cheese in the dough and only made half to test.(Check out the recipe site, it has lot of tasty dishes, it's a very creative lady masha'Allah) After making that I sliced and afterwards sort of diced 2 tomatoes very thin and put it in a pan with some water, salt and paprika powder. Put it on low flame wait till water almost all of the water is gone and then I mashed the tomatoes with a spoon and added some italian herbs.

Very well when dough was ready I've put it on the tray, already put the oven on right before(just check your ovens user manual, it wasn't necessary to pre-heat in mine) then put the sauce on the dough, some turkish peppers as we call them here and last put not least my faked grated cheese. Didn't have grated cheese, only slices of cheese to put on a sandwich. So I cut the cheese in to thin parts. See the before going in to the oven result:

And the baked result(it's actually from two days later, cause first one was eaten before I took a picture. That's the reason for the different shape)

Doesn't it look delicious, it was anyways.

Will be writing to you soon insha'Allah.

Allah hafiz, take care.

Chai

Hi there/ Assalamu alaykum,

Today I want to let you know what I like to drink, Chai. It is indian-style tea. Making it is usually a challenge for me, because among other things everyone likes its Chai in a different way. Some like it plain, others with ginger, cardamom, you name it.

How I like mine?

I like my Chai with cinnamon. So I just put a spoon of sugar, add some milk, teapowder and off course 2 or 3 small pieces of cinnamon.

Here are some pictures(sorry for the poor quality, made with phone and already little late on the day)

Sugar, cinnamon and teapowder

Milk is added and stove is on.

The final result!

Lately I've been cruising the net to look for inspiration and Indian recipes and I came across a you-tube video with tips on boiling milk. Like to prevent it sticking to your pan etc. I don't want you to miss out on that so for all of you:

They have also lots of other kitchen tips and offcourse recipes. But I never tried a recipe yet.

Will be writing to you soon insha'Allah.

Allah hafiz, take care!
