Hat

Hi to all/ Assalamu alaykum,

I'm seeing so many of you showing their creative things. I want to do that tooooo. That is all I'm thinking while seeing that. But a lot of times I don't have the resources. Insha'Allah one day.

I am busy making something. It is suppose to become a hat for Little Two. Only I'm hoping it's going to fit, cause  it looks a little small. I already started out one time. With this as half way result:

Like you can see it didn't really work out good. Not at all, haha, yes you can laugh as well. It was my first ever project. So for the first time I didn't think it was too bad, but still unhappy and looking at how flat it is, it would have never became a hat.

So I ended up taking it all out. Now I ended up making another one, different pattern. And already soon I found out that because my yarn was thinner and the crochetneedle I am using is thinner I had to adjust little bit. And so I did, and was good I did so. But now again I got the feeling it's gonna be to small. It's not finished yet, just half way and measures 26 cm around. I looked at the measures of the head of little one when she was around 1 or 2 months and that was 38.8 cm. So my feelings says I have to take this one apart too. Don't worry insha'Allah I'll be taking a picture of it before I take it apart, if needed.

My goal is to crochet a Kufi, but Little Two is insha'Allah going to be the test person to see if I can do it.

I'd love to have a sewing machine as well, but for the moment this was a cheaper option to express my creativity.

Insha'Allah I'll be able to show you the result soon.

Allah hafiz, take care

Bread sticks

Hi to all/ Assalamu alaykum,

Here I am again, with another kitchen-post. Sorry I can't help it, I was so excited that I wanted to share with all of you.

I got the pizza-dough recipe from The muslim wife's kitchen blog. And I noticed you could make more things with the dough. So I thought let's give it a try as well. I decided to make te breadsticks, nice and easy. Although they might not have the original bread stick look. Here the before photo:

From left to right: Garlic/butter, Italian herbs/butter, butter and garlic/paprika/butter.

Here they are finished and in the same order.
It took me a while to find out that my mobile phone makes better pictures without flash. So insha'Allah from now the pictures will look better.

But back to the sticks, Me and Little One liked the bread stick with the italian herbs the best.
I think the past week I've been making the dough 3 to 4 times. Making pizza's and breads. I like bread with cheese put inside very much. I also tried it with chocolate and pizza sauce, but honestly the cheesy one beats them all.

Insha'Allah I'm going to try making a bread with herb butter inside aswell, but for now I don't have the material to do that.

Insha'Allah I'll be writing to you again soon.

Allah hafiz, take care

If it ain't round...

Hi to all/ Assalamu alaykum,

Pizza. That is todays topic. Yesterday(19-05) I attempted to make my own pizza, with homemade dough and sauce. Alhamdulillah it turned out fine if you ask me. The only thing I was wondering about Why does pizza have to be round?
I took the (delicious btw) pizza out of the oven and the first comment was: It's not round. The only thing going through my mind was: It ain't pizza if it ain't round???? Anyways as you will see on the before going into the oven picture my pizza was not round. Usually if I make bread or pizza I just put the dough on the bakingtray and make it flat with my hands. Ending in the result of not really being round. But who cares, it's all about the taste right?

Anyhow, I made dough according to the Recipe, well without the cheese in the dough and only made half to test.(Check out the recipe site, it has lot of tasty dishes, it's a very creative lady masha'Allah) After making that I sliced and afterwards sort of diced 2 tomatoes very thin and put it in a pan with some water, salt and paprika powder. Put it on low flame wait till water almost all of the water is gone and then I mashed the tomatoes with a spoon and added some italian herbs.

Very well when dough was ready I've put it on the tray, already put the oven on right before(just check your ovens user manual, it wasn't necessary to pre-heat in mine) then put the sauce on the dough, some turkish peppers as we call them here and last put not least my faked grated cheese. Didn't have grated cheese, only slices of cheese to put on a sandwich. So I cut the cheese in to thin parts. See the before going in to the oven result:

And the baked result(it's actually from two days later, cause first one was eaten before I took a picture. That's the reason for the different shape)

Doesn't it look delicious, it was anyways.

Will be writing to you soon insha'Allah.

Allah hafiz, take care.

Chai

Hi there/ Assalamu alaykum,

Today I want to let you know what I like to drink, Chai. It is indian-style tea. Making it is usually a challenge for me, because among other things everyone likes its Chai in a different way. Some like it plain, others with ginger, cardamom, you name it.

How I like mine?

I like my Chai with cinnamon. So I just put a spoon of sugar, add some milk, teapowder and off course 2 or 3 small pieces of cinnamon.

Here are some pictures(sorry for the poor quality, made with phone and already little late on the day)

Sugar, cinnamon and teapowder

Milk is added and stove is on.

The final result!

Lately I've been cruising the net to look for inspiration and Indian recipes and I came across a you-tube video with tips on boiling milk. Like to prevent it sticking to your pan etc. I don't want you to miss out on that so for all of you:

They have also lots of other kitchen tips and offcourse recipes. But I never tried a recipe yet.

Will be writing to you soon insha'Allah.

Allah hafiz, take care!

Ungrateful

Hi to all/ Assalamu alaykum,

Ok I was untill a couple weeks ago in a not so good period. Was thinking a lot, probably a little too much.
I blame the hormones. Even now a small thing can make me very upset for some time, but alhamdulillah.
I was disliking everything, unhappy about everything and that made me feel really ungrateful, which I kinda was. And thinking that I was ungrateful, I felt even more bad. So everytime I thought that I had to say Alhamdulillah for the things I should be grateful for.

Here are some, in random order:

  • Alhamdulillah for the fact Allah guided me.
  • Alhamdulillah for the fact I have a roof over my head.
  • Alhamdulillah that I have food to eat and drink.
  • Alhamdulillah I'm healthy.
  • Alhamdulillah I'm blessed with another pregnancy.
  • Alhamdulillah my family is healthy.
  • Alhamdulillah I have everything I need.
And now an extra Alhamdulillah for feeling much better lately.

Insha'Allah I will be writing to you again soon.

Busy inside -> busy outside?

Hi to all/ Assalamu alaykum,

Lately I'm wondering about Little Two. Little One(LO) has always been pretty busy, but very very sweet and not really difficult Alhamdulillah. Little One was sometimes pretty busy as well when still inside. So now I'm wondering what's it going to be with Little Two. Also Little Two can be pretty busy inside me, will he or she be the same outside.

To be honest I do hope so. I love my Little One, eventhough sometimes this LO drives me crazy. But that can't outweigh the positive points. That's why everytime that LO makes me angry I say Alhamdulillah(which insha'Allah I will continue to do). Insha'Allah LT will be the same.

In the beginning weeks I was a little doubtfull. How will I manage to deal with 2 of these??? Well Alhamdulillah LO is starting to listen to me a little bit and the past weeks all my doubts have disappeared. I'm looking forward to insha'Allah meeting Little Two in a couple of months. It will probably be a big change, but I'm up for the challenge insha'Allah.

Even from 0 to 1 little person was a big change, but Alhamdulillah we have managed to deal with it. It takes some adjusting from all sides, but masha'Allah when you got your life back on the track you can't stop smiling.

I can't say Alhamdulillah for this blessing enough.

Learning to blog

Hi there/Assalamu alaykum,

Today I've been trying to discover the blog world. I'm a little new to blogging. I've done it in the past, but most of it was just writing and that's it. Now I'm trying to find out how all this works, so I can make it look good for my viewers. Still it will take time for me to understand everything. Alhamdulillah at least I'm able to write texts and I have a OKfornow-lay-out. Maybe that will change in the future.

Also I registered myself at the Sisterswhoblog site, insha'Allah I will be allowed to enter. Through that site I already found a lot of interesting other blog of sisters who also blog. Inspiration on creative, cooking and ammi level. Insha'Allah I will benefit from there knowledge and learn to cook some new things, create some new things and maybe some advise on how to deal with the little ones. You should be able to find these blog in the list of blogs that I follow in my profile area.

I was planning to post something else today, but I didn't manage to do that because I had other things to do.
Insha'Allah tomorrow.

Write to you soon insha'Allah, Allah hafiz

Alhamdulillah

Hello again/Assalamu alaykum,

Here I am again. Alhamdulillah the visit I had last friday was very nice. I had everything ready on time alhamdulillah. I was very nervous up front. Usually I'm not a person who has a lot to say. And I was little scared, cause first time I met the, very nice, lady she was also little shy. But alhamdulillah we had a nice talk and a very nice afternoon. I hope I will have the chance to meet her again.

Because the visit took longer than I expected, not that that minds, I didn't get the chance to look for the recipes I wanted. Insha'Allah I will post whatever I find and make.

My weekend was relaxed, didn't do much. Got some family over, but the rest just relaxed. Eventhough the relaxing I'm very tired today, but alhamdulillah. I'm gonna make a quick-fix for dinner.

Insha'Allah next time I will have more to tell and maybe to show somethings.

Take care, Allah hafiz
